Sometimes an image is entitled to a narrative in order to understand it. My standard photographic hunting ground is the valley of Maridalen, beautifully located on the city perimeter of Oslo, the capital of Norway. This is a very popular resort area for all classes of the citizens, and I stress "all", because the city hookers have this as their favourite action field as well - in all weather situations as it were. It's OK with me, after all this just proves the ancient rough and hardened Viking spirit still soldiers on. Valhalla next stop. The essence of Nordic attitude to life.
That cold and bleak day, I set out for shooting details in rotten spring snow, but was derailed by this vividly coloured scene nearby. Never got my planned snow shots that day, but on a more positive note, I had acquired excellent material for testing the sharpness of my Polaroid 45 large-format scanner.
