This
pinkish-flowered species exhibits UV-absorbing petals all
over, but the degree of UV absorbance does vary with the
flower so presumably some kind of UV pattern emerges.
More to the point is the fact that the bracts reflect UV
quite strongly. Other Rose species may behave differently from the Glaucous Dog-Rose as far as UV pattern is concerned. |
