Grecian Windflower displays strong UV reflectance of its numerous petals, and combined with UV arbsorbance of the flower centre area, a strong two-zoned pattern develops.

In common with other bluish-flowered species of this famility, Grecian Windflower has quite strong reflectance in near-IR. This trait makes the "true" (visible-light) colour of its flowers difficult to capture, even more so with digital cameras with their elevated sensitivity to IR.
